Power engineers started to construct the foundation of the two-storey building of the new Ice Palace substation (110 kV). This substation will provide electric power to Ice Arena for curling, Central Stadium, Olympic Park Venues, sports training base, ski tracks, artificial snow covering systems and the hotel complex..

Builders started to construct the basement storey of the biathlon stadium with the capacity of 16 thousand spectators. This arena will become a part of the combined complex for conducting of cross-country skiing and biathlon competitions.

This is one more step to organization of environmental management of the Corporation for certification according to the international standard ISO 14001:2004. Preservation of the environment remains among priorities of SC Olimpstroy, as well as rational use of natural resources and provision of the high level of ecological security during designing, construction and operation of Olympic Venues.

SC Olimpstroy has agreed with youth social movement “Russian Student Squadrons” that 1,350 participants of student squadrons will participate in Olympic Venues construction. This is almost seven times more than last summer, when approximately 200 people participated in the Olympic construction.
