The largest conservation organization in Russia forwarded its feedback on the project of the document to the Corporation.

The standard specifies requirements for ecological and energy efficiency, resource saving, rational nature management during designing, construction and maintenance of the Olympic venues. The document is developed on the basis of the international “green” standards BREAM International and LEED.

Olympstroy SC has sent to responsible executors of the Program on construction of the Olympic venues the Instruction on landscape gardening with the recommendations for trees and shrubs choice. The Instruction defines the range of plants for landscape gardening taking into account the venue location (flat ground of mountain zone) and acclimation rate of the particular species of plants.

"SC Olympstroy" addressed to responsible executives for the Olympic Venues Construction in a mountain cluster memo on plants that are booked in Red List of the Russian Federation and Krasnodar Territory. The document that is made by the Corporation includes almost every Red List’s plants that grow in a mountain and piedmont part of Sochi National Park. The memo will be used while fulfilling preparation, building and installation work on the cluster’s territory.

Global Environment Facility will finance events on protection of the environment in Sochi.
