Federal Service for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring put two environmental monitoring facilities in the Olympic Park construction area at the Imereti lowland into pilot operation.

SC «Olympstroy» supported holding the First Russian National Competition on environmental development and energy efficiency, the results of which will be summed up in September in Saint Petersburg within the framework of PROEstate 2010 forum.

To update the complex environmental impact assessment (EIA) of Olympic venues, SC «Olympstroy» is planning to review design documentation of certain venues and to undertake further surveying. SC «Olympstroy» expects to receive bids and offers concerning the programmes of additional environmental activities which will be aimed at preserving the endangered animal and plant species of the Sochi region as well as their unique natural habitat.

This is one more step to organization of environmental management of the Corporation for certification according to the international standard ISO 14001:2004. Preservation of the environment remains among priorities of SC Olimpstroy, as well as rational use of natural resources and provision of the high level of ecological security during designing, construction and operation of Olympic Venues.

Preparatory works are performed on Adler sewage disposal plant site. Builders perform stripping, construction of access roads, concrete preparation of foundations, engineering system outlet.

The document is aimed at stimulating the demand of goods meeting environmental requirements, at reducing energy consumption produced from exhaustible energy sources, at debulking the waste and minimizing negative impact of the Olympic venues construction on the environment.
